Renaissance Cavalier Hats & Felt Hat Blanks Cavalier Hat available in 5 colors and 3 sizes, with cloak clasp pin and your choice of feathers. These hats are offered in either a Felt Hat Blank or as a Cavalier Hat and is available in sizes M (7 1/8), L(7 3/8), & XL (7 5/8). To determine your correct size measure the circumference around where you would wear the hat. Basically, from level with the forehead around. M size is 22 1/4 inches, L is 23 inches and XL is 23 7/8 inches. The brim of the hat measures about 4 1/2 inches from the base of the crown to the edge and the crown is about 4 inches from the base to where it starts to curve at the top. These measurements vary from hat to hat but are always close to these numbers. The hat blank comes as pictured above with no feathers or pin. The Cavalier is secured with a cloak clasp (as pictured below) and comes with your choice of either 2 smaller feathers or one large one. Large is available only in Ostrich feathers. Please email me for current colors.  You may also choose between pheasant, peacock and striped quill turkey feathers as well so you may mix up your selection.  The felt is a bit stiff when you first get it but it will soften up with repeated wearing and mold itself to fit the unique shape of your head. I have them in either Black, Tan, Dark Brown, Gray (1st picture),  and Red (3rd picture). The second picture of the gray hat is a finished cavalier. A tan cavalier hat is shown pictured further down the page along with the Deluxe and Tricorn Hats.  The hats may differ in shades from the ones pictured like gray, brown and tan so just be aware they may not look exactly the same shade as those shown. Lighting and computers can affect how the colors appear.  Currently the Gray hat has a wait time on it of 1-2 weeks. My supplier is out of the boxes I usually order them by but can make them up on a single item basis if needed.  I also have other colors now available on the single item basis, basically I order it after you do so if you are looking for a different shade I can now get them in Dark Green, Kelly Green, Maroon, Navy, Orange, Pink, Purple, Royal Blue, White and Yellow. Since they are a special order hat the cost is $5 more than the others I offer which can be ordered by the dozen because it costs me more to order individually. These hats have a finished edge to them instead of the scalloped edge. There are cart buttons for these hats listed below for both a Blank or a Cavalier.   The Cavalier hat comes with a cloak pin inserted and folded up on the side but untrimmed. The hats have a scalloped edge to them which may be left as is or you may trim with heavy duty scissors for a smoother finish. The feathers will be loose in the box to keep them from getting bent in shipping and you simply insert them behind the pin in the fold of the hat. The hats can be trimmed and cut as you desire but is not necessary. I have had orders for blanks to be used in making tri-corner or rolled edges style hats or just to use the felt cap part.  Please check for availability on specific hat colors in the 3 sizes. I try to keep all sizes and colors in stock for immediate shipping but occasionally there may be a week or two lag time before delivery if I've sold the last one and the new hats have not arrived yet so if you need it right away please email me first.  The hat may be slightly bent from shipping due to the box it is shipped in but is easy to bend back into shape once taken out of the box. An iron on the lowest steam setting may be used with a cloth in between the hat and the iron for any flattening the brim may need.
